Partner Organization: Youth Action Network
The Youth Action Network (YAN) is a community impact initiative of youth and adults working together to increase youth wellbeing by amplifying and strengthening youth voices within our community. YAN provides a platform for youth to step into their greatness and support the next generation of community leaders by providing opportunities in community-based research, civic engagement, and youth leadership development.

Project Description
The Youth Empowerment Institute (YEI) is a summer program that aims to cultivate self confidence, leadership, and tech skills in young women and nonbinary youth. This year, YEI partnered with the Youth Action Network (YAN) to organize this year’s 2022 summer camp. Under United Way of Santa Cruz County, an organization aimed at creating a network to encourage bettering their community, the Youth Action Network is a non-profit geared towards empowering the youth and advocacy. This camp will be held on July 7, 2022 to July 10, 2022. Our project will support the work of the organization by providing another leadership opportunity to students and personal development. The student committee will be able to teach their peers, those who aren’t able to attend the camp. Along with that, there will be a packet of recorded workshops, infographics, and much more for after the event.
