Cassandra Ruark and Daniela Cardenas in Partnership with Everett Impactathons and The Anti-Recidivism Coalition
Los Angeles, California
Everett Impactathons team in collaboration with the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) plans to address recidivism among formerly incarcerated individuals. The project leverages technology, particularly generative AI interfaces, LinkedIn, and other professional development resources, to enhance employability and facilitate sustained engagement in the workforce. The proposed workshop aims to equip participants with essential digital literacy skills through workshops covering email communication, internet navigation, and online security.
Additionally, the plan emphasizes the importance of personalized assistance and tailored solutions, incorporating generative AI prompting to enhance learning and problem-solving capabilities. The overarching project goals include educating team members on recidivism, hosting workshops on the utility of AI in reducing recidivism, and implementing a sustainability plan to measure project impact and ensure longevity. The sustainability plan involves capturing workshop progress through videos, gathering participant feedback, and making curriculum materials accessible for future initiatives.
Ultimately, this collaborative effort seeks to empower formerly incarcerated individuals with the necessary skills and resources to navigate the digital and professional world effectively, thereby reducing recidivism rates and facilitating successful reintegration into society.
