To promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability on a local and international level through place-based education, applied research, and collaborative community programs.
Project Description
We will be creating a story map that will have several interactive pages: one for small businesses and local landmarks, community partner statements involved with the Institute and community programs, interviews from community staff and partner heads, and upcoming course work with options for interested individuals. This ground work will being executed through the entirety of the month of August, while our team will be in Monteverde. The project will bolster ecotourism by promoting the values of a sustainable touristic community, and keeping alive the research aspect of the Institute by bringing in more people interested in learning and researching community based initiatives and programs. We hope our project will bring more attention to the Monteverde Institute’s mission statement through new tech avenues.
