Partner Organization: Salinas Inclusive Economic Development Initiative
The Salinas Inclusive Economic Development Initiative is an initiative that was recently established by the James Irvine Foundation and Community foundation for Monterey County in order to bring together nine Salinas-based community organizations and support their work in creating a more inclusive economy in Salinas.
Project Description
We will be creating a story map using ArcGIS will highlight the work of each individual SIEDI organization and present their answers to the question: “Why does Salinas need an inclusive economy?” We will be taking a collaborative approach in making the story map by working directly with the organizations and interviewing them to find out more about what they want to communicate about their work. Each organization will have the chance to share their own definition of an inclusive economy, why it is important to them, and how they hope to achieve one within Salinas.
